Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was told 2 years ago that I had pleurisy - however my upper chest has remained sore/ tender that is noticeable when I inhale for the last year and from what I have read, that didn t sound like pleurisy. Today, after chest x-rays yesterday, I was told the x-rays show early signs of copd and I was prescribed an inhaler (which I haven t picked up yet). I don t feel a shortness of breath that I have noticed, I don t cough at all (unless I am sick - which isn t often). I just don t see how my symptoms match copd. Is there a test that can confirm copd?

How Can soreness In The Upper Chest Be Treated?
Hello, Consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated. You can go for a spirometer to rule out COPD. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
